Status Updates From Quantum Leap: Double or Not...

Al still hasn’t made contact with Sam but things seem to be heading into the final stretch. The two Sams are on a collision course with each other. Also notable, there is a scene where Al talks to a character named Mark Ralston and says: “Oh, hi Mark.” 🏈

Even though I started this book as a stand-in for THE MAMMOTH HUNTERS during a hike, I didn’t want to just pause it until I finish the longer book. Therefore, today I switched back and forth between them. I’m a little frustrated by the fact that there’s no hologram action, and annoyed by the fact that Ziggy apparently believes in God, but I’m still holding out hope this comes to an exciting conclusion.

I took this book on a hike today instead of THE MAMMOTH HUNTERS because THE MAMMOTH HUNTERS is, indeed, mammoth—whereas this book is compact. So far it’s not bad, though I think it’s going in the direction of good Sam vs. evil Sam, which is a tired trope. Hopefully it does something original with it.
