It seems like the author has started building a lush world and characters, but veered off completely into another trajectory. Prostitution is glorified a lot but it was done subtly so I suppose it was okay. However, there's a lot of sexual stuff going on. M/M, F/F, M/F...you name it, this book's got it. Idk why the author has focused so very much on this when the story and the characters have so much potential

Ugh. Bhediya's chapter turned out to be boring too 😭 There's a lot of info dumping and lore learning happening rn and the author hasn't given me a chance to care enough about the world and the people that I will read 10 pages of lore 🥹

Kinda bored of Roland's POV. Tara, Bhediya and Garj have interesting storylines but Roland I don't get. Who's surprised that a white man in a brown world is boring 😭😂

And that is just an amazing thing to achieve because I am someone who struggles with imagination, so I usually don't have a movie playing in my head when I read. But this book really brought it out for me. And I cannot wait to read more of this. It's amazing.

The characters, although it's just, you know, you're just meeting the characters, you're just reading about them, you're just getting to know them. And yet, they feel so real and so tangible, like they could just be with you in your room and not inside the book.

I am only 30 pages into this book and it already has me spellbound. The writing is so amazing! I absolutely love the writing. I cannot believe that this is the author's debut book and oh my God, I've never been in love with someone's writing so much as I am at this very moment. It is so rich, the world. You can actually feel it, smell it, experience it.
