I didn't actually finish reading the book. When our granddaughters were visiting, I offered it to the 9-year old. She was pleased as punch to get it. She won't get some of the jokes/references, but she'll enjoy reading about all those cats and their fascinating lives. :-)

It was too violent in some scenes which is unfortunate because it has a wonferful message.
