Status Updates From Tempest (The Lyrian Sea, #1)

Look, I really don't mind a lot of exposition or set-up or infodumping or whatever, but am I really supposed to already be this bored in a story that includes pirates? I am being reminded that Aveyard is one of those authors that I want to love, but something never quite lines up for me between her premises and her execution.

was hoping to be enjoying this book by now but i still don’t care about anything that’s happening but i’m also trying really hard not to let what i read before this impact my enjoyment of it (or lack thereof) (i read the last book in the realm of the elderlings before starting this)

Hmmm…I’m still kinda bored.
