Best enemies to lovers style book I’ve read and I’ve only read two. AND I’m not even done yet. The tension is just SO strong like they so attracted to each other that he literally did stuff to her BUT they can’t admit even to themselves that they like each other (Jilly can barely admit it to herself). I wasn’t sure if they were toxic tbh but I can tell they’re not and they genuinely care for each other.

2. The fetishization of East Asian men is getting a little too apparent…when it said Jilly probably chose a previous guy she was with because he was part Chinese? And the constant calling Reno “exotic”….

3. The tension between them is amazing, they’re trying so hard to ignore the attraction and I love it

Again, LOVE the suspense and how something is happening every chapter, whether it’s romance related or assassin related. But…Jilly is annoying, she asks too many questions. And Reno is so forceful and aggressive for what?? LIKE WHEN HE PULLED HER OUTTA THE HOTTUB THING?? I actually liked that scene ngl 🤭 But I’m feeling iffy about his character now, I liked him before bc he was badass but now, still deciding

AND IM ALL HERE FOR THE DESCRIPTION OF HIM, SOME BAD BOY AESTHETIC GOING ON WITH THE MOTORCYCLE AND LEATHER PANTS AND LONG RED HAIR AND TATTOOS LIKE WHATTTTT LOVE ITTT but I don’t like how the author keeps using the word “exotic” in the description of him…I’m assuming it’s because he’s Japanese 😃

This is so good so far, the suspense started right off the bat and I was never bored. SO excited to read more of this and I cannot wait for the romance because it sounds like they're slightly annoyed with the fact that they are attracted to each other which is one of my favourite tropes. 😁
