i’m enjoying this and it’ll be good for my dissertation, but at the end of chapter five h contradicts himself in an important passage about how this novel he’s been talking about “is not reducible” to any of the “range of expressive possibilities” he’s extracted as what it’s composed of— yet he uses the word novel! a frustrating oversight.
