Status Updates From Meatspace

Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting an entire chapter of dick comparaison.

"I click send and wait for the ether to respond. I refresh. I refresh. No responses. No interactions. I get a favourite from @partyorifices. A favourite? What’s the point? It’s not even a retweet."

The basic Twitter experience, but a lot worse 10 years later.

"I have one Facebook mission, get my friend Steve’s mum to unfriend me. GET. THE. MUMS. OFF. FACEBOOK."

I got bad news for the year 2014. Thinking back on how the internet used to be is really fascinating. I feel like I found a time capsule in my backyard.

No what, they did tattoo parlours so dirty. I refuse to believe most people thought that in 2014. Ink Master was already a thing by that time, how??? (Ok I know it's a British book and that's an American show, but the point still stands)

What a weird book. I read a few pages and I got hooked on the discussion about social lives and the internet and all that stuff. It's surprisingly still pretty relevant even if it's a 10 year old book. BUT man, I don't like the characters at all. Maybe I just wasn't ready for this type of semi realism and self-loathing.
