“Please tell me you did not buy a nine-year-old a fucking horse,”
“I didn’t buy a nine-year-old a horse. I gifted her a horse I already had.”
“It’s a horse, Nicolas! I can barely keep the girls alive!”

this man doesn’t have any flaws, this should be marked under fantasy genre XD

“Where’s your hat?”
“Hats equal hat hair.”
“Hats equal a warm woman when it’s freezing out.”
I glare at him.
“The horse doesn’t have to wear a hat.”
Now he glares at me.
“It’s a fuckin’ horse, Shae.”

“That’s the part that scares me most. Because if I’m being honest—and, truly, what else do I have to my name other than honesty anymore?—if I didn’t have the girls, I’m not sure I would have left. It’s the opposite of what I feel is expected in a world of stay together for the kids, but for me, it was leave for the kids.”

nobody told me I need tissues for this read

“This part always feels embarrassing, another reason I like to keep that door slammed shut and locked at all times. There’s inherent shame in realizing my husband, the father of my children, had to strike me across my face for me to realize that our marriage wasn’t a loving situation and that he wouldn’t change.
And most importantly, that if I didn’t get out, the girls would be next.”

Ok seriously! HOW CUTE!!!!
