Wow, these were some fascinating poems. This book is doing an excellent job at describing what masking feels like, and I’m resonating with Rebecca’s experience. I feel awful for her, she really shouldn’t be holding in her feelings all the time. At least she has a good relationship with her dad. Hopefully, Rebecca can talk to her dad about what’s happening at school.

Again, I’m really enjoying the story so far! Mrs. Rivers seems menacing, and I can understand why Rebecca was offended that she shared the same name as her special interest. It only makes me feel worse for Rebecca. I’m intrigued to see what happens next!

Wow, I’m truly enjoying this book so far! I feel bad for Rebecca, she seems to mask at school a lot. And speaking of the school, I appreciate the backstory the plot shared about it. It makes sense why they’re pressuring these girls to assimilate and be like everyone else. I’m intrigued to see what happens next!

What a fascinating set of poems! I like how the story established Rebecca’s relationship with her mom, it seems to be pretty strained. So, I’m hoping her relationship with her mom can improve. And I’m also intrigued to see what happens to Rebecca at school! Based on what’s established, it seems like school’s going to be rough for her.

Whoa! I haven’t even read 50 pages yet, but I’m already enjoying the story. It’s very engaging and descriptive. Rebecca seems like a pretty cool character, and her special interest in rivers is something I haven’t seen before in kidlit. I also like her friendship with Clover, too. Though, it seems like she relies on her a lot for support. I’m intrigued to see what happens next!
