Ok idk if I’m gonna continue reading this I feel despair knowing that I might become like this at 30 cuz yeah she’s right being an unemployed bum and reading manga is fun

so our unemployed recovered breast cancer patient still has to go for monthly hospital appointments is obsessed with another beautiful, aloof patient she keeps seeing in the smoking area. eventually they meet. but she's not a patient! she works the bean shop in the hospital. she offers the narrator a job and she's accepted. it's all TOO CONVENIENT but i want to see what happens next damn it

okay the second story is about a woman who had breast cancer and stopped work but now she's well and doesn't want to go back. her bf is like, you need to stop milking this! you can't not work forever! you need to pull yourself together!

the theme of this book seems to be women who don't want to be in the workforce and how this annoys men

the first story was about an unemployed woman and the pressure for her to rejoin society and get a job. i didn't find this very satisfying. the blurb made out like this was edgy and feminist but it's not

will try one more but the way this book is packaged and the way it actually is are really not aligning

either the blurb is inaccurate or it takes a surprisingly small amount of non-conformity to be labelled as 'difficult' in japan

first narrator is divorced/unemployed but she seems to be ok financially; she's bought a small place outright with the settlement. she's happily spending her free time on her hobbies much to the horror of everyone she meets. i quite like her

this is so late 90s and i am here for it! (got distracted going down a rabbit hole of the 'postpet' email client which sounds exactly my sort of thing and apparently there is an english language version - ahh!) but the narrator is a 30-something recently divorced unemployed because her previous job was with her ex's company. this is billed as sharp edgy feminist but the vibe is kind of cute/upbeat? i will press on...
