Status Updates From Horizon Hong Kong: Selected...

I don't remember reading career-spanning collections before this but I enjoy noticing how Xu Xi's writing and subjects become more mature through the chronological sequence of stories.

The Fourth Copy (...) - most experimental in narrative so far

The Yellow Line - once again a kid caught in historical pressures crossing over the domestic, short but abrupt

1. Democracy - how democracy was initially viewed, treated and eventually participated in by young students of HK in their school-based elections.

2. Chungking Mansion - I love the running theme of young people caught in the turns of histories. In this, a young girl witnesses without fully understanding the growth of the red light district due to the presence of American troops.
