this is actually wild never thought i’d enjoy a book about straight people arguing this much
things that come to mind:
- immediacy - this feels more present than the present tense, every second is acutely felt
- the characters are half people half caricatures but they’re people enough for the emotionality to it and for some part of it to feel “true.” i love how they play off each other

- passage of time is interesting in this - i almost feel like i can experience every second
- i think the small detail of him pouring poison on the leafcutter ants really helps ramp up the tension
- excited to see where this will go next now that they're entering the actual argument stage

kind of cool format - every chapter is just one run-on sentence

"...in the end, we are all beasts born of one and the same dirty womb, carriers of the most vile contradictions, but if someone were to flaunt their morals, then right from the start that person should admit to a complete lack of shame..."
