I’m excited for the next volume!

But other than that I loved it! And I would read a whole series with Schierke and her Mistress Flora as the protagonists! I wonder if Witch Hat Atelier is inspired by her! The design of the protagonist is quite similar to Schierke! The pointed hat (though not exclusive to Schierke) and the green hair and the young age. I looked it up and it wasn’t but it is cool that they’re similar!

I loved this volume but my only complaint is that Isidro being a pervert schtick. I love the kid! He is a fun character without this. There’s no need to make him into this. And it is not funny. And all the fan-service scenes of Casca and Farnese. And all the unnecessary SA scenes. It gets exhausting.

I wonder if Guts’s sword: the Dragon Slayer is a magical weapon too! I loved all the themes of transience and how the world changes throughout this volume. The story about the spirit shrines and their destruction by the Holy See (and the erection of churches in their place) and the scene with Morgan telling Isidro about his life. It was all so bittersweet! I really loved it.

I hope that I am. I really can’t take any more betrayals. The magical items and weapons (magic fetishes) are so cool! This whole volume has been leaning more and more into the epic fantasy genre and I’m so here for it! But this part in particular was peak fantasy! I wonder what was that look about when Schierke offered Guts a double-bladed axe and he refused, she looked weirdly at his sword! I need to know!

Casca has grown so attached to Farnese, despite how it started, their friendship is quite wholesome! I am so scared that the Behelit Guts is carrying is meant for Farnese! She really has what it takes to use it, only thing that’s left is the right condition and for her to crave its power and I’m scared that this perilous journey will provide that. But she is improving a lot! So I might be wrong about it all.

The talismans will become quite handy! The thought transference hairs are so cool! It opens up so many possibilities! Schierke said that it could transfer images too! I wonder if it will help communicating with Casca! She said that it is impossible now for them to communicate with each other but it could happen after they get used to it/practice more right? It’d be so interesting!

We’ve learned so much about the world in this volume! And it seems that Schierke’s fate is entwined with that of Guts! It seems that she’ll play a huge role in taking down the members of the Godhand and I cannot wait to witness it! It was very interesting to see that her mentor Flora was asked to lend them a hand by the skull knight and that they are friends! And that he, is a fellow struggler too!

I read the first two chapters of this volume before I sleep yesterday (it’s actually the day before yesterday now) and I only remember that poor guy that Isidro stole apples his apples and then he treated him kindly and even gave an apple and was going to forget about the whole thing only for Isidro to execute a suplex and give him serious injuries. Poor guy! I felt so bad for him.
