Status Updates From Carnalis

The writing in this is beautiful, but I need to give some thought on how I feel about the rest of it. I have no issue with feminine rage as a concept and even enjoy it, but this feels like one of those cases where it's being used to preemptively tell the reader how to interpret the story to avoid indicating that interpretation in the text itself. Leaning toward a 3/3.5. Review later.

The last read wasn't as dark or as quick as I was hoping for so I'm overcorrecting lol. Side note: why do books about cannibals always have such gorgeous prose?

This is what Lauren loved about older men, how they were greying into softness, faded photographs of the power they once had. Sometimes they clung to those memories so hard that they gleamed at the edges, sweaty and angry, wearing ghosts under their skin.
