I feel like for halfway not much has been accomplished

I hab a lot of thoughts:
1)okay so I did read the sample and then decided I wanted to know how the story progressed even though I didn’t love the writing style (lots of POV switches in the same chapter, LOTSSSS of very short scenes)
2) I read all of the 187 pages at a public pool today so I just want to note that haha
3)I‘ve been having fun

Slightly confused because the names of the main characters are different than the ones on the goodreads review.
