I'm not one for steam punk-esq although history, but setting that aside thus pulp story had some fine characterisation

The War of Scarab Aggression

An enjoyable story of the adolescence of the first AI. I'm not quite sure about the ending, but it was still a good read.

Ready for Takeoff

A story not of the saviours of the world but of those helplessly hoping they succeed. A sentient asteroid creature heads for Earth and needs to be talked into changing its course. A very human story.

Background Noise

Dustbowl apocalypse with a zombie twist. The ending was regrettably flat.

A silly and strange quantum existence. The viewpoint of a young child worked well enough to gloss over the detail.

Ripples

A quantum rift AND a terrorist cell. Could have done with more room to breathe but still alright.

Quantum Crisis

A small story, inverted, about stopping the destruction of a person but not earth itself.

Eggshell

An otherworldly crack in the earth and something needful on the other side, a group of spiritualists. Not as subtle as I'd have liked, and with an ending that feels a bit much.

The Third Apocalypse

Travelling back in time to seed a preformed Earth with materials that will extend its life by hundreds of millions of years. A surprisingly good story with surprisingly good characterizations.

Way Back Machine

A button dilemma with Mythos trimmings. Awkwardly written and unengaging, to say nothing of the typographical errors.

The Button

A world overrun by demons, and an animated gargoyle protector. Not quite to my taste.
