Golly, how I hate the word 'subbie'.

I've met two versions of this guy. Both truly powerful D types, both sadists. One a total sociopath....

So far I'm enjoying this book for the same primary reason I am enjoyed to movie Split. Split took the D ID as a given. A fact of life that character lived with. I like the way this book treats submission is not a plot twist are even really a kink but as simply a fact of the heroine's personality. This is who she's always been, this is her reality and the problems and difficulties she experiences are filtered through

I feel like my WTF meter is pretty high but I'm struggling here...

One step toward him and I would fall. Hard. People said they fell in love all the time, head over heels, like it was wonderful. Sunshine and bunnies and floaty hearts weren’t in my repertoire. When I fell, I crashed like a flaming meteor that wiped out an entire planet.

Such an unhealthy relationship and I don't mean the degrees of her sex life. More like how she falls so quickly and very deeply.

Plot is getting way too OTT for me. My DNF finger is twitching :(
