Finally, a book that's grabbed my attention

This is such an unexpectedly good book. The plot is original, though not completely, since it does bring to mind other books and movies like The Time Travelers Wife, & About Time. Though it is different in that the protagonist doesn’t really travel through time in a way, he kind of just disappears for long periods of time. Years could go by in the world but for him it has just been minutes. A tearjerker!
