‘It’s bad luck,’ writes the historian Mathilda Marx, ‘to let your guard down, to find yourself alone, to think you know someone who has been patiently setting a trap, year after year. It’s bad luck that you smiled, that you travel alone, that you’re not afraid to speak your mind…’

This last chapter has been the most nuanced. And looks at advocacy and how we police our advocacy. It talks about the algorithm pushing but doesn’t mention bots or paid trolls. The outdated Bechdel Test is mentioned. Private and Melissa Gilbert comes up but not together.
When the chapter ends, the book ends abruptly with no conclusion and very little in the way of how to find guilt.
