the liberal politics in this are exhausting. spoilers, i guess, but the enlightened teen who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant saying, "I'm not a dipshit bitch who can go get an abortion like it's a manicure," is, i'll admit, accurate to the covert racism and classism most liberals participate in, but i had a physical disgust reaction when i read it.

it's certainly a choice to make a 19-year-old girl an unwitting participant in your main characters' hold the moan public sex game 😬

this is my first heidi cullinan book. i'm really enjoying the amount of character personality she injects into her prose, so i'm holding out hope that there will be more emotional range on display as the story goes on. i love that roe is a straightforward, simple guy, but he comes across a little bit creepy to me in some scenes in a way i don't think was intended. this is also not my brand of horny, but that's fine.

Starting this book I already knew I didn’t like reading BDSM, and not that I expected it to, but this book has not swayed my opinion on that. However, I will say that it’s written like the main character is talking to the audience, which makes it a fast read. (But still, holy shit and spoiler: I took a break after Roe’s birthday).
