what the fuck is happening. please bring out some sort of twist that turns this ship around.

also, this is my second willis in a row that is driving me insane with dialogue that's basically characters talking past each other or getting interrupted or otherwise being unable to communicate. not to mention we're nearly at 500 pages and nothing much has happened. also also, the MC is the dimmest researcher to ever live.

If you’re getting bored in the middle of the book, don’t stop until you finish chapter 31! It’s getting good!

I LOVE Connie Willis but this is not my favorite of hers. Could have cut 100 pages of running around through the maze of the hospital.
