oh dear this is clearly going to be super lush prose with the world’s slowest burning plot and it’s 500 pages, something i did Not realize before i started it :/

I wish the interesting stuff had happened before we were 80% of the way through the book

I’m a reader of big words right, I can a lot of words thrown at me, but I almost think this book is TOO wordy. The writing style is really nice, but it definitely needs refining.

I hope the physical copy has a dictionary because my French/knowledge of opera is naff

I fear I am getting lost in the prose-sauce

The prose is lovely but it’s almost too dense, if that makes sense? I love a metaphor, but there can be too much of a good thing.
