Yeah, this was an awesome novella and, with included essays on the alternate history and on the geography, plus interview, it was an awesome package. The story started cool and a little weird, then changed and I was like oh wow, of course. Some shades of a book I read last year, which is one of my favorites of all time. Naming that book would be a bit of a spoiler here...

Fascinating reading a story about a left v. right world war as we sit here in our concrete apartment block assuming the city will soon be surrounded and wondering which military units have turned Q and, specifically, how much artillery and strategic air power they now command...

And straight to the other title in the Outspoken Authors series that I own. I've briefly met MacLeod and he seems like a friendly and humble guy. In a time of right-wing reactionism and a longing by half the population for a return to the good old days of fascism, MacLeod is an antidote.
