I am loving this book. It is clarifying on so many levels: historical theological, dogmatic, and practical. Very convicting.
The key to all theology is mystery because the God with whom we deal, and the God who deals with us, is the incomprehensible and absolute triune God. The mind of finite man is meant, not to seek to comprehend this God and His ways, but to adore Him in humble faith as He reveals Himself.

“The difference between the Christian and the non-Christian position could not be and was not clearly and fully made out except by Calvin… It appeared that if there is to be true challenge of the natural man by the gospel of the sovereign God then the particularism of this gospel must be supported by a commonness of the call of God to all men everywhere. Common grace must support special or saving grace.”
