ok im gonna stop right here and say this: if we've waited all this time to see her dark spirit come out, and we are TOLD ABOUT IT by people who "witnessed her brutality," and we don't actually see it for ourselves, I might actually have a breakdown

yeah, I skipped the smut scene. the romance is cute or whatever but idrc. the romance already being established isn't the problem here; it's the fact that the reason as to why Aicha didn't wanna marry him was bc she's afraid of giving birth, that he'll want children later on. where was the transformation of her thought process on that?

see this is the problem: yes I wanna see them get married, but what about the briefing for the rebellion y'all and this book have been gearing up to? We don't even get to see that? or will that happen later?

ok so how many rebels do they have? bc we've actually only met and honestly only SEEN maybe 8 or 9 characters that have to do with the rebellion. idk honestly the meat of what they plan to do during the siege has been told and no shown so far

I do like that the pacing is fast, and the culture and vividness of this Moroccan setting.
I do with he setting descriptions were better, though.

As much as I'm liking this book, the characters in general feel kinda flat. Like they're cool and all, but I don't really know much about them besides basic facts, like who they're related to and maybe a one-off comment about a basic personality trait. As for the romance, it's ok but being already established at the beginning, it kinda just feels...there. Like yeah, they're cute but I'm not really attached to them
