Status Updates From The Book of Records

I've begun to think that I am not a skilled enough reader, have high enough thematic literacy; to see what this book is attempting to do.
I can't see how the parts connect.
sometimes I'll go across a short paragraph, and have to go over it again, and then stop reading and hold my jaw, thinking about the author means.
There are somethings which are literal and easy; but I can't see how the different elements connect

Ummm....this might be my first non 5 star book idk yet this book is just lowkey not rlly giving
