Status Updates From Lucien's Fall

I miss this kind of character driven HRs

I have not felt this way about a book in a year now I think. Please be good!!

Until now, Lucien believed all woman had a need to save the unsalvageable rake—to be the one woman who could redeem the most hardened heart... She was not vulnerable to the call of a rake’s lost soul, sensibly concluding it was a loss of his own making. And after all, saving souls was for the vicar and the church and God. She made no pretension to being any of those.

Definitely a keeper for a reread... was awesome!!!

Pace has picked up a bit, thank goodness it was a bit 1 dimensional

Possible a predictable plot

okay, I am really NOT getting why this book got poor reviews.... I am LOVING it.... maybe people just don't understand how powerful music can be or the dark shadows of abuse.... Don't know, but I think this is a great book....

.....and.... the parts with the violin get to me.... I have been learning the violin myself over the last couple years, and i love the soulfulness of the instrument... I sort of wish I had a Lucien to tutor me.... :)

I guess I'm not sure why this book has gotten some bad reviews.... I actually kind of like it. it isnt your typical historical romance, darker somehow, which i find intriguing. I like the way that the supporting characters are not necessarily good or bad, but tend to run in shades of grey. And the plot, so far, seems to be more believable than many HR books.... I am anxious to see how it all ends...
