I like how this lovely tackles touchy topics like fandoms especially in K-pop music industries, obsession, infatuation, loneliness, desperation through succinct metaphors and modern comparisons. The mukbang one was on point. And now the snippet of fanfiction within the K-pop fandom as a jest comparing the juxtaposition; showing the distance between ‘reality’ and fiction.

This book is written so well. It delves into topics people tend to avoid—such as para-social relationships with celebrities, and how para-social relationships with celebs are used as a form of escapism within our own lives as a means to avoid, and deter our own inner ‘demons’, and secrets—iykyk. It is described in a palatable way with some of the most beautiful descriptions and metaphors.
