The main character definitely needs some lessons in assertive communication; her family is soooo toxic that it’s hard to read at times. I bought the next 3 books in the series so I’m hoping I don’t regret that choice once I finish this book.

Can Sam just ditch her wretched family and start a new one? The only good ones, as far as I’m concerned, are dead. Even her father is useless, even though he loves her. Actually, I’m not too enamoured with Sam at the moment, either. Stand up for yourself, lady.
