Status Updates From The Lie and the Lady (Winne...

Ms. Noble did it again. We start out wondering about a secondary female character (because she seems borderline unlikeable) ... then said character crosses the border just in time to be featured as the heroine in the sequel. First, there was Letty, and now I find myself reluctantly rooting for Margaret. You go, Rhys. (Oh, and John, for this novel.)

Last Sunday's sermon encouraged loyalty to the tried and true ... after Leticia's conquest of the womenfolk, the vicar's wife mentioned that this weekend would be pro-steam engine (new technology).

Sounds like the basis of the misunderstanding about Jane and Mr. Bingley ("Pride and Prejudice"). He didn't indicate his attraction to her so all and sundry thought he wasn't interested.

Yes, I know. But then I read some stuff that was WAY worse, and remembered I liked Kate Noble and am now able to read this with a lighter heart. Especially because I wanna read the next one...
