Finally, Camus discusses the conqueror. Here I doubt Camus’ point of view. He claims legacy is futile, but aren’t conqueror’s usually concerned with their legacy? The world after their passing? Camus focusses on the immediate: conquerors fight against themselves and remake geography. They touch what they can change and do that relentlessly. I understand Camus’ point, but only for conquerors who never stop.
