So many characters to keep track of right off the bat. Our narrator, Cathy— she’s envious of her mother, jealous of her new siblings, & idolizes her dad. Chris— the oldest, the smart & practical one. The twins, Cory & Carrie. Their dad (also called Chris) who dies in an accident in the first chapter. & Most baffling of all, their mother, Corrine, who is clearly hiding a lot from her children about her past.

Finally ready to brave this one… I watched the movie a long time ago but never got around to finding the books. A few months ago, I found 4 of them in a little free library near my gym, and now I’m ready to start them!
