allende loves stereotypes and archetypes. half of her books have the same plot but despite this her stories find a way to pull you in. this started off super slow and miss girl needs a better editor because the first 130 page’s could’ve been shortened but now the story has fully immersed me. some things she writes kinda throw me off because they are just weird or stereotypical but im going to finish the book

There’s some beautiful stuff in here, typical of Allende, about relationships and aging and the people living through historical dramas and traumas. There’s also some stuff about sexploitation of children, which I’m not willing to read through.
