I didn’t expect emotional damage of that magnitude in the first few pages but consider me throughly broken.

How tf do they have trucks and can take blood samples and run a number of tests???? What in the world is happening in this world?

DNF at 43%. Despite the high ratings and interesting idea, this book disappointed me. The world-building is weak with no clear background about the empire or politics. The romance was way too fast and lacked real chemistry or depth. Turning hate into instant lust didn't make sense given the harsh plot. I just couldn't believe their relationship without a slow burn.

i cant get over the whole “im your slave but also you’re hot” plotline but at the same time im partially here for the angst and murder, and it IS a dark romance so i’ll ride it out
