Hunger is not regulated primarily by food. It is primarily regulated by hormones. Nutrients in food, the combination of food items in a meal, preparation, order and timing of the day - all play their parts in regulating hormones that determine hunger and how much to store as fat. I have learnt about the glycemic index, the characteristic that has a much bigger role than calories.

Gone through the first 2 chapters. The proposition is interesting. Normally we would think that exercising and burning more calories than we are eating should help us start losing fat. In the first two chapters, the author explains that the biology of human bodies do not work that way. The body will simply reduce metabolism to nullify the calorie deficit, and keep the body fat at the same level.
A promising start.

I couldn't finish before the public library loan was due! I have to wait. I skimmed to the end for weight-loss tips. So far, it's a great read, better than Obesity Code by Dr. Fung.
