Not sure what to think of this book. I've read Taylor's Dark Griffin novels, but this book is far removed from those novels. It has a Grimm Fairy Tale feel to it, and I definitely feel to old for this book. The prise, plot and characters are very simplistic but some of the scenes are quite dark. Grimdark for middlegrade, perhaps?
