I prefer biographies by family but there are none. I would hesitate to read this pessimistic essay anyhow but Mom had this book. I am glad to learn the basics of fellow Canadian, John Candy, whom I love and respect. I admire him too, having grown up reveling in his memorable films. I have had John on my mind and was going to read this now. It was a coincidence to see that his children are producing a documentary.
