Status Updates From Emmie of Indianapolis

I didn't have any expectations for this book going in. I wanted to read it because it's set in Indianapolis. It has touched on some heavy topics but has retained a childlike levity, because its told through the young main character's perspective. I'm not sure where this story is headed, but the storytelling is captivating and has me hooked.

A very odd book w more caricatures than characters

Each page of this gets more disturbing, with little to no emotional reaction. The lack of character development as the plot makes such big leaps is unnerving.
