Status Updates From The Death of Danny Daggers

It's almost February and I'm still reading this. :'( It's not the book, it's me. It's not terrible, but I just can't focus on it because I have so many other books in my pile that I want to read first.

This one is just starting to get interesting.

(Yes, I'm juggling three books atm because I can! HAH!)

Very interesting, but I'm bored. Can we get to the holy-cow-how-did-that-happen or the I-think-it's-you parts already?

“Oh, her? Yeah, I remember her butt.” Haha I luv how they talk.. He was actually saying, yea I remember her buddy..but this butt thing they say instead makes the most hilarious phrases out of context!

Oh dear...autopsy report..missing phones, missing wallet, missing laptop, and someone missing from jail.

a lazy, insipid blend of Alt-J, the XX and Radiohead with the volume turned down. It wasn’t exactly the image the band’s name –Iranian Punk Rock –had created in Tom’s mind; they were something far worse, far duller, than the firebrand group of Persians in ripped jeans making a three-chord racket he’d envisioned.

Tom talking about jobs from the Job Center "It's like... getting punched in the face hurts a lot less than getting stabbed in the testicles, but that doesn't mean I enjoy getting punched in the face all day long.”

Quite a character!

By God, I think I love this book! It is hard to read English/Irish dialect...but the author has a way with words like nothing I've ever seen. Ex. " At that thought, that moment of total despondency and dawning epiphany, realisation of dependency, he glanced up from the dark grey ovals of chewing gum lining the pavement and looked across the square ..."

i was sent this book in exchange for an honest review, and while i had reservations, i decided to give it a chance. However, it isn't getting off to a good start. So far, the characters are all very similar (due to the detached perspective), each point of view is very rushed, and the over use of strange metaphors and unnecessary adjectives is distracting from the story. The nonlinear storyline isn't helping either.
