In the last bit, Spike being on a case with Dowling was referenced. In this one, we see that it's a case with a woman who was assaulted by an incubus. It matches well with Buffy addressing again the sexual assault she had from Spike at the end of season 6.

While they are waiting for Archaeus to make his next move, Willow does a spell for Giles to have one more day as an adult. At the same time, Hank busts into Buffy and Dawn's lives again and makes both of them feel crappy, which is pretty much how Giles feels about being an adult again.

A rather pessimistic end to Angel's visit to the Scoobies, but at least he and Spike make peace with each other on the surface. Archaeus is in the wind and there is still a threat of the unknown magical artefact that is with the other demon lords of the season.

They are finally facing the big bad demon lord Archaeus and everything seems to be going fine and dandy, if a little bit too easy, when he uses them against themselves and each other to begin to beat them.

Angel comes to town and finds out Buffy and Spike are dating now, immediately before a demon attack. The three of them are all tripping over themselves and each other and it's pretty funny.
