Status Updates From Lovers' Dance

Not only is this long but I am starting to wonder if I have the patience to finish it at all. With 'Home,' it was long but I could see myself finishing it because the dialogues were realistic and interesting. With this.. I don't know. A lot of scenes and convo that could have been cut is just taking up my time and I am not completely feeling it.

Aaaaaand now they're getting ready to bone. Literally right after she continues to call him racist scum for no reason whatsoever. So ladies, you ever feel like you're being fetishized for your skin but want to get rid of that pesky virginity? The answer is easy!

I'm confused? She was talking and laughing with homeboy and then she takes a bathroom break and googles him. She finds out he's a "gazilionare" and now she's going off on him, saying she's not his token "black fuck" and called him a racist POS. Why??? Cause he's rich? I don't get it?

The struggle is going to be real trying to finish this book. For the most part I like Madison BUT girl, Stop blurting out you're a virgin because some random person makes a dismissive comment and you think ppl think you're a slut. Stop acting like you're forced to represent black women as a whole bc you're surrounded by white dolls. Girl you're in England; that's not exactly Whitesville, McWhiteTown.

I'm glad he's noticing his personality and environment changing her. but he's still not realizing his part in it.

At this point I'm reading to find out when she's going to come to her senses.

I don't understand what the author is going for,because I'm not very intrigued in the herein acting ok with being talked to like a dog.

There are times when I read this book and wonder why the author writes like this. Like do u want me to like the love interest or not. Because the way he treats her sometimes isn't becoming to me.

Let me just say this. It's one thing for your woman to be jealous for no reason about your ex it's a complete other for her suspicions to be valid and confirmed.

Me and this book are on and off again lovers. I can stand a cheater and letting your ex give you a hand job beneath the table is cheating to me.

I hate how Madi just lets him have the final say so. Like he gives her a look and she gives up on what she wanted to discuss. That's weak.

So.Matt's supposed to be this big tough alpha guy but when it really counts you can't stand for ur girl to your ex or grandfather.Man, that shit's weak.

is this racist shit supposed to be making me feel good. I'm like one second away from putting this shit down. Because the I-was-racist-but-I'm-not-anymore-because-you're-black-and-attractive-to-me is not something I support in fiction or real life.
