My heart rn 😭 Maddox 😭 ugh, I just wanna hug you. I read A LOT of dark books, books so dark that like you should be worried if I’m okay, LMAO.

But CHAPTER 14. Ugh I wanted to cry. That just hit me deep. Because I was Maddox once, and I have never read something so close to what I’ve been through in my past. My face actually hurts from clenching lmao 😭😂

It’s nearly 6am and I haven’t been able to put this book down since I started it 😅😴

Initial thoughts: Honestly, I feel so confused by this book. I'm not sure I've never needed re-read before reviewing more before. I think the biggest issue is that having listened to The Mercenary and the Mortician and Make Me, I was expecting something *very* different. Most obviously, the spice very much takes a back seat in this book to character development and plot. That character development was meaningful tho
