Status Updates From The Comforts of Madness

I salute the insight and imagination and all a that, but it's a bit depressing, innit.

Give us some light.

Okay, maybe I couldn't read it all in one go. Some of it is really depressing.

Genuinely gripping. I'd read it it one sitting. Excepting that I won't. Time for bed I suppose.

I was surprised to see something from 1988 recommended by the New York Times today. I was more pleasantly surprised to see it was available for checkout at both of my libraries here. It's been compared to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which is precisely the work that came to mind as I was reading its synopsis. Additionally, its prelude mentions Kafka. I admit I have high hopes for this one.
