reading this book and suddenly a huge side eye at this line — “… even church elders have unwittingly supported human traffickers.”
The idea posited as a) unlikely and b) always unintentional definitely gave me pause, and then I did some research and discovered this book is published by a christian publisher. going to consider skimming through but definitely taking this perspective with a grain of salt.

Reading this for work, the most eye-opening 100 pages. Ignoring trafficking issues, warning signs, and its presence in the U.S. because it’s a rough topic is so dangerous and only serves to perpetuate cycles of hopelessness for victims. Traffickers are comfortable as long as we are silent.

Assigned two chapters for one of my social work classes. We're discussing HT this week. I can't not read a whole book, so even though only two chapters were assigned, I'll be reading it it's entirety. I'll write more of my thoughts later on this book, but there are some iffy points that have been made so far.
