Starting to think the 'friend' who keep haunting the narrative is more than that!!! This book could be a 5 star for me. Cline's prose is hympnotic- I can't stop reading.

I think this one will win. I'd bet all my money on it

happiness. The mercy of another person’s body delivering you to yourself.
A young man who still existed, there in a faraway, long-gone year. His face
still bright and clear.
