Status Updates From The Rouse

I wish I could be giving this more time, because I am adoring it, but it's really dense, heavy and progress feels slow when having to juggle so many other books.

I feel as though everything I thought I knew about this book (so far) has been wrong in the best and most satisfying way. What an experience this has been already - and I'm only a fraction of the way through it!

I have been looking forward to this for so long - here we go!

OK now the different dialogue styles make sense.

The lack of quotation marks for dialogue is a bit annoying but then some chapters do have them? I'm still trying to figure out the reason for this. There has to be a point to it.

Moving along nice and slow so far... Giving some Omen vibes with this Damien-like empty shell of a boy. Wonder what sort of terror he'll be/bring as things progress.

REALLY would prefer a f#ckin' paperback ARC. You don't know how stupid it is to read 1200+ page book on a (EXPLETIVE) phone screen without shrieking DON'T GIVE ME CARPAL TUNNEL FOR TRYING into the void!

I need a physical copy of this book. I've noticed that different ebook files have made this one difficult to read or otherwise are improperly formatted, and it irks me that it reads best on the netgalley reader phone app, worst on the netgalley reader browser, and is confusing at best on the kindle app. It's really good when you can sink into it, but it's so easy for a reader like me to get taken out of an ebook!
