NOT impressed so far. Let’s take Aunt Higgie, for instance, whose manner of speech is just all over the place. (Sondheim writes about fractured characterization in one of his books. Characterization can -develop- in fiction but that’s not the same as a character suddenly discovering resources because the author needs them to.)

This book is delightful! The longest work I've read by Bernabe so far, but if possible, even better than the shorter stories. I adore these characters, even some of the ones we'd call villains!
