Status Updates From Doing No Harm

so far this book feels like a warm blanket, but based on the reviews I think I should prepare for some emotional devastation

Was really well written. The setting and language were a bit hard for me to get into at first, I had to keep reminding myself this was a historical romance/novel-set in Scotland. I got sucked in and couldn't put it down though,even though some of the passages kinda turned my stomach. Maybe that's what fascinated me so much. I find myself thinking about the subjects it brought up long after I finished reading!
