As a son of Chatham, the neighborhood in which the author also grew up, perhaps a generation behind me, I very much appreciate this story. the author does a great job providing details, statistics, and a narrative that clearly reflects someone who is passionate about and committed to the city, particularly the parts of it where Black people live.
