I also love the balance in the conflict between the ousters the hegemony and the techno core that provide underlying justification and reasoning for all their respective movements and how the time tombs and the shrike tie into it

The consul being an ouster, hegemony and himself triple agent is awesome and the twist that the ousters have the ability to open the time tombs and release the shrike which they believe to be an object created by them in the future. The consequences of this are bound to ensue war for the hegemony and the ousters is also exciting. I love the description of the colonization of the hegemony that motivates the consul
